‘RED’ KEN Livingstone’s staff “celebrated” the 9-11 attacks, one of the former Mayor of London’s policy advisers has claimed.

Atma Singh recalled how he was “disturbed” to see a people in the central London HQ “cheering the events” as the Twin Towers were attacked.

Mr Singh about his time with Mr Livingstone he said he was charged with “ensuring good community relations” in the capital after the attacks.

Of the day, he said: “I watched the attacks unfolding while I was in my office as one officer had come into my office in the Mayoral corridor to inform me about them.

"Then, as the situation unfolded, I went into a room to watch the terrible events. I was disturbed to see a few people cheering the events.

“Others watched soberly and others talked matter of fact about the consequences for London.”

Challenged about the term “celebrating”, he replied: “Yes.”

Tory backbencher James Cleverly MP said: “If this is true I am speechless.

“The fact that anyone would celebrate the death of 2,996 innocent people is outrageous.

“I demand to know what action Ken Livingstone took against those sick individuals.”

Mr Livingstone told the Sun he was in Singapore at the time, but insisted he would have been told if anyone had been cheering. He said: “Everyone was traumatised.”

In his interview, Mr Singh said the hard-left Mayor’s decision to form an alliance with the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood after the 9-11 attacks was “electoral suicide”.

“He was rightly attacked by a large coalition of groups for defending terrorism, gay killing and wife beating,” Mr Singh said.

He separately yesterday questioned current Mayor Sadiq Khan’s links to extremists and said he hoped he only served one term in the capital.

He claimed a recent ban on bikini ads on Transport for London sites had set “alarm bells ringing”. “This is out of the Islamist handbook,” he said.

“His policies are very dangerous for London and the UK and an assault on freedom.”
