Teacher jailed for having sex with pupil, 15, in a field is working as a gate guard while on temporary prison release
A TEACHER jailed for having sex with a pupil is now working as a gate guard while on temporary prison release.
Kandice Barber — who romped with the 15-year-old boy in a field — is now wearing a hard hat to check security passes on a construction site, letting in trucks and stopping any traffic and pedestrians.
The mum of three, 37, was sentenced to six years and two months in jail in 2021, and even with time on remand should not be back on the streets before next March.
But sources have revealed she has been working at a site building council homes, in Hounslow, West London, since May.
The sources say Barber is loving being on the building site.
One said: “Kandice turned up about two months ago, which was a complete shock because she should have still been behind bars.
“She’s attractive looking, so she’s already proving a hit with the lads, who have no idea about her background.
“It’s no secret she’s a massive flirt and lots of the staff there have already noticed her.”
She is on placement with Wates Construction – which has confirmed she is on temporary release, which is used to reintegrate inmates before their release.
Barber, who worked at a school in Princes Risborough, Bucks, first flirted with her schoolboy victim in messages sent during a school assembly.
She also sent him topless snaps.
The mum, from Wendover, Bucks, kissed the boy on the neck and whispered “What do you want to do now?” before driving him to a field where they had sex.
Following her trial, ex-lovers complained she would demand sex up to five times a day and insisted on dirty weekends away so she could catch up on her strict sex quota.
It was recently revealed Barber’s husband Daniel had moved on with a new woman, despite originally vowing to stay with his wife through her jail sentence.
A source said he moved out of their home and has been pictured smiling with new lover Charlotte Smith.
They are said to have been dating for several months and are hoping to start a family together soon.
Daniel accompanied Kandice to court every day for her trial, referring to her as his rock.
The Ministry of Justice said prisoners are subject to “tough risk assessments” before they are allowed out on temporary release.
It added: “They must also abide by strict rules and face extra time behind bars if they don’t comply.”
Wates Construction said: “We provide placements to offenders as part of the Ministry of Justice’s Release on Temporary Licence scheme.
“We work closely with the MoJ, have rigorous safeguarding processes in place, and are committed to ensuring the safety of the communities that we serve.”
