Burglar jailed after crashing through hotel ceiling onto guest dozing in bed
Dozy crook Christopher Boast, who was crawling around the loft, told the shocked man he was an electrician and asked for a glass of water, before stealing his laptop and car

A BURGLAR who woke a hotel guest by crashing through the ceiling and landing on his bed has been jailed.
Christopher Boast, who was crawling around the loft, told the dozing man he was an electrician and asked for a glass of water.
He then stole the keys to the guest’s £16,000 company car before eventually being tracked down thanks to DNA he left on the glass.
Stoke-on-Trent crown court heard the victim had been enjoying an afternoon snooze when he heard two bangs and Boast crashed through the ceiling.
Prosecutor Roger Brown said: "He saw the defendant coming through the ceiling.
"The defendant claimed he was an electrician who had fallen through the ceiling.
"The man offered to get him some water.
"When he went back into the bathroom for a second glass the defendant left.
The man discovered his car had been taken which contained a laptop and monitor."
Boast, 31, was on bail at the time for pinching a car and leading cops on a chase while high on a cocktail of drugs including cannabis, cocaine, diazepam and ketamine.
The crook, of Bentilee, Staffs, admitted burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and drug-driving offences at Stoke crown court.
Sentencing him to 30 months in prison, Judge Paul Glenn told him: "The hotel room burglary is serious.
"The man must have got the shock of his life when you came through the roof.
"Some planning was involved because you drove to the location and got in the roof space."
