THE SUN SAYS

How will we trust a word of Labour’s election manifesto with all of Keir Starmer’s u-turns?

Reverse Keir

NOT a day now passes without Keir Starmer ditching some point of “principle” he once passionately championed.

Labour’s leader blames London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s punitive city-wide emissions tax for the Uxbridge by-election defeat.

Which is odd, since in 2019 Starmer helped campaign for it AND talked up eco protests he now denounces.

On Monday Labour also abandoned its idiotic stance on letting men legally self-identify as women.

All were positions Starmer based not on evidence but fashionable left-wing ideology.

Only now is he waking up to how much voters hate them.

But they are noticing too his habitual changes of heart and increasingly wondering: What DOES he really believe in?

And how will we trust a word of a Labour election manifesto?

Clueless cops

WE cannot directly link unsolved burglaries in Port Talbot and police wasting hours aboard a Gay Pride bus alongside a drag act named after a Class A drug.

But it won’t have helped.

When The Sun criticises cops for abandoning the hard graft of fighting crime to focus on vacuous, woke PR stunts this is what we mean.

South Wales Police has blown £24,000 on rainbow flags, face paints and LGBTQ badges and whistles.

This virtue-signalling somehow “ensures that the public have confidence in reporting crime”. Are they insane?

If they want public trust, they should catch more villains.

Tree muggers

IMAGINE your job was to spring out from behind trees and fine frail old dears £150 for dropping a cigarette end without even giving them the chance to pick it up.

How would you sleep at night?

Yet Havering Council in London seems inordinately proud of all those exorbitant penalties its hired enforcers dish out for mostly trivial transgressions.

Bertha Quinn’s was binned after The Sun contacted them. What if we hadn’t?

She’d have been robbed of almost a week’s pension by an official clearly not trained to show common sense or mercy.

Doctors know

THE BMA’s justification for the doctors’ pay strikes was always dubious.

It is now clear it is brazenly hypocritical too.

The union demands 35 per cent, calls the Government’s 6.5 per cent offer “derisory” and refuses to accept our crippled finances don’t allow for more.

Then it hands its OWN staff a “final” 5.5 per cent, saying that’s all it has.

These Corbynites plainly understand affordability when it suits them.
