Natwest’s scandal over Nigel Farage’s bank account is graver than a confidentiality breach
THE scandal over Nigel Farage’s bank account is far graver and more sinister than one NatWest chief executive breaching his confidentiality and resigning.
What matters is WHY Alison Rose knowingly misled a BBC reporter, why he regurgitated that so enthusiastically, why the Left clapped along and why even now it cannot understand the fuss.
That fuss is about free speech and the threat to it from a Left-wing establishment itching to silence dissent.
Over the last decade private firms and public bodies have been engulfed by woke groupthink: A liberal-left “progressive” metropolitan pro-EU doctrine.
It is mandatory for a brand’s public image, must be flaunted 24/7 on social media — using vast amounts of time, energy and money diverted from the business or service — and it must be enforced at any cost.
At Coutts that extends to stripping accounts from customers daring to voice a different view.

The Left’s chilling response to Rose’s resignation yesterday was revealing.
Like her, the BBC and dim Remainer cheerleaders on Twitter, much of the Labour Party is too blinded by hatred for Brexit to care about Farage’s rights, or those of Leavers or even Tory voters.
The Left thinks that it alone owns the moral high ground, that certain mainstream views are “dangerous” and that millions of ordinary people holding them have a deserved reckoning coming.
This Orwellian totalitarianism has somehow thrived under the Tories.

Years too late, the party is pushing back.
There are ample grounds to fear that, under Labour, “wrong” opinions would be marginalised and even silenced.
Crystal Keir
AFTER years of mortifying confusion Keir Starmer correctly defines a woman as an “adult female”.
Baffled? You’re right to be.
Where does the Labour leader’s lightbulb moment leave the biologically male transwomen he used to back so stridently — those “women” he recently believed “have a penis”?
What, too, of all those people he denounced for having the exact same view he now apparently shares?
Yet again, Starmer found himself on the wrong side of crucial floating voters and U-turned.
But what does he REALLY believe a woman is?
No one knows.
Including, we suspect, him.

WHY do Remoaners want to rejoin the EU?
To be more like Germany, the coal-fired super-polluter in recession?
The IMF reckons we will grow 0.4 per cent in 2023, as the EU’s broken “powerhouse” shrinks by 0.3 per cent.
So why rejoin it?
