ANOTHER victim of the sex abuse scandal engulfing football has told how a paedo scout raped a young Thai boy in front of him.

Former Leeds United star Jamie Forrester said he was on a Far East tour with Frank Roper in the 1980s when the horrific incident occurred.

Jamie said he and the other young players – all aged around 11 or 12 – were taken to see the Thai boxing when Roper came across a local lad of around the same age.

He said the scout brought the boy back to the hotel with the others and took him into the room where they were all staying.

But after the kids got into bed and turned the lights out, Roper climbed into bed with the Thai lad and began having sex with him.

Jamie told : “I was in the bed next to him and it happening two yards away.

“He was clearly having sex.

“I was very scared.

“Me and the other boys all lay in absolute silence."

Roper mainly scouted in the North-West during the 1970s and 1980s, searching for the best young players in order to train them and offer them to top clubs.

But Jamie says he was using the role as a cover for abusing young boys.

And the former Hull City ace claims he was connected to a network of paedos who were working together to target vulnerable kids.

He said Roper often spoke about another man who was involved in youth football who was widely rumoured to be a sexual predator.

One day, his parents received a call from the other man, inviting him to stay at his house for the weekend.

His parents declined because they had heard the troubling rumours about him.

But Jamie reckons his attempt to get in contact was clear evidence of an organised paedophile ring operating in the sport.

He said: “To me it suggests an organised network was in place and that Roper and the other man were colluding.

“There was no other way for that man to have got hold of my parents’ phone number without the help of Roper.”

Jamie said Roper - who died 11 years ago - never tried to rape him but revealed he did regularly grope him and others, while some boys got much worse.

Former Chelsea player Gary Johnson also said he was abused while he was a youth team player

He is the latest in a growing list of victims to come forward about historic sex abuse in football.

Chelsea FC yesterday became the first club to acknowledge abuse went on, apologising to former player Gary Johnson.

Gary said he was sexually assaulted hundreds of times by scout Eddie Heath while in the youth side.

The apology came after Johnson claimed he was paid £50,000 to keep quiet after years of sexual abuse.

Some 18 police forces across the UK are now examining claims from more than 350 people, implicating 55 clubs.
