Man, 18, found dead in square in Portsmouth as cops launch ‘murder’ probe

POLICE have launched a murder probe after a teenager was found dead in a city square.

The victim, 18, was found dead outside the Guildhall in the centre of Portsmouth at around 11pm on Saturday.

Police said the death was being treated as suspicious and arrested three teens on suspicion of murder.

However, the boys, aged 15, 16, and 17, have since been released without charge.

Officers remained at Guildhall Square in the hours that followed.

The force said: "We understand that news of this will be concerning for residents so please speak to our officers who will be in the area today.

"Detectives investigating would be keen to from anyone in the area at the time who may have information that could assist our investigation.
