Dad shares heartbreaking final photo of his son, 5, playing in pool minutes before boy drowned at Atlantic Reach Newquay

A HEARTBROKEN dad has shared the last photo taken of his son, 5, who drowned after getting into trouble in a Cornwall holiday park pool.

The final family photograph of little Robin Caliskal, showed him smiling with his six-month old brother Renas, in the Newquay resort on Monday.

Shortly after the heartwarming picture was taken at Atlantic Reach, the devastating tragedy unfolded.

Robin drowned after slipping out of sight of his mum and dad because of "low lighting" and "barriers" in the pool.

Emergency services scrambled to the family park but the youngster from Plymouth, in Devon, tragically could not be saved.

Dad Cemal said Robin had been with him in the main pool and asked to go to his mum and baby brother in the baby pool.

Along the way he got into trouble and due to "low lighting" and "barriers" Cemal and mum Ferzane did not notice until it was too late.

Cemal said: "I want every parent to see this story, this can't happen again.

"We are suffering pain and we don't want any parents to have a similar feeling.

"We just wanted to share this to stop it happening again, to any other parents and any other children."

He described his son as an "intelligent" little boy who "loved hugs".

Mum Farzane later paid tribute to her boy, sharing a handwritten note from Robin which read "I love you mum".

Devon & Cornwall Police have launched an investigation into Robin's death.

Atlantic Reach told The Sun on Tuesday: "We do not feel it is appropriate to comment further at this stage, except to say our thoughts are with the family at this time.

"Atlantic Reach is committed to supporting our guests and community, as well as our team that provided immediate assistance.

"As such we respectfully ask that all those affected are given time and space at this distressing time."

Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said on Monday: "Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a child at a holiday park in Newquay.

"Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police along with representatives from Cornwall Council Health and Safety are undertaking enquiries in relation to the circumstances surrounding this death."
