Labour stands by TikTok councillor giving legal loophole advice to help illegal immigrants stay in Britain
LABOUR has stood by a leading councillor promising in TikTok online videos to help illegal immigrants stay in Britain.
Lawyer and Newcastle council cabinet member Irim Ali offers to use human rights loopholes to fight their corner.
She says she can help those here illegally or who have overstayed their visas to make their case to the Home Office.
Her TikTok channel — with 21,000 followers — features a string of tips, such as how to fill out visa forms.
She also shows off gifts her clients have given her to say thank-you — including a watch, pyjamas, cakes and cards.
Ex-Brexit Party chief Nigel Farage said: “Labour’s Irim Ali openly admits helping illegal migrants to stay in the UK, and even gives advice to submit applications based on human rights laws.“

In her videos, she says: “Are you in the UK without a valid visa?
“Are you illegal or have you overstayed your visa?
“Do not fear, Irim Ali is here to help you regularise your visa in the UK and submit an application to the Home Office based on your human rights.”
Mr Farage and top Tories urged Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer to sack her.
But her party gave her only a dressing down before she removed the video.
A Labour source said: “Irim Ali has been spoken to and acknowledges the language in the video wasn’t appropriate and she’s taken it down.”
Her website boasts of expertise in immigration claims, including settled status, indefinite leave to remain, and family reunion, in her work for Tyler Hoffman Solicitors.
Immigration minister Robert Jenrick hit out, saying: “This is the reality of the Labour party’s approach to illegal migration.”
