Woman alleging rape by fellow Durham University student felt ‘broken’, court told
Alistair Cooke, 22, 'followed fellow undergraduate home from a party and raped her three times'
A STUDENT who was allegedly raped by another student after she got drunk at a party told a friend she felt broken, shaken and lost, a court has heard.
Alistair Cooke, 22, who studied geography at Durham University, is accused of following the woman home from a party, finding her asleep on the couch, taking her to bed and asking if she knew his name before allegedly raping her.
The third year student, from Perranarworthal, Truro, Cornwall, denies three counts of rape of the same woman following a house party in June last year.
Durham Crown Court heard the complainant was so drunk she could remember little of what happened.
A male friend said she texted him, saying: "Something happened last night.
"I was really drunk. I cannot completely remember but what I do was not good."

The friend told the jury they spoke on the phone for an hour about it.
He said: "I remember her being broken, she sounded lost, shaken and quite confused.
"I had never seen her in such a state before, when she was so upset and so lost."
He added the woman described Cooke as violent and rough.
He said: "She used the word forceful a few times.
"I believe she used the word 'dismissive' in the way he was with her."
Earlier this week, the court heard Cooke acted out a rape fantasy dreamt up while training to be a counsellor with the Nightline student advice service.
The court was told during his training, he role-played being accused of raping a drunken woman after following her home.
Cooke denies all the charges and the trial continues.
