Friends told the he had come to the UK five years ago, after staying at the camp in Calais.

Akii Ahmadzai, 20, said: "He came here for a better and more peaceful life but he was still murdered. It shows that you’re not safe anywhere."

He described his friend as a "lovely guy who never had anything bad in his heart".

It is believed Khalid had lived with foster parents in London, Peterborough and Birmingham recently returning to the capital to work in his uncle's shop.

Another friend said he met Khalid in the camp before they came to the UK.

On December 1 police were called to Victoria Road, Acton, at about 6.30pm to reports of a fight.

Cops found Khalid suffering from a stab wound to the heart, he later died in hospital.

A 19-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and bailed until early January 2017.

Detective Chief Inspector Sam Price, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "There were a lot of people in the area of Victoria Road at the time of the incident and, while we have spoken to several people, I believe that not everyone has come forward at this time.

"I am continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the fatal stabbing or the moments leading up to it to contact officers in the incident room.

"I would urge anyone who can assist our investigation to come forward as soon as possible."

The Jungle camp was demolished in October.
