AS THE wife of former WWE boss Vince McMahon, Linda’s life has been in the spotlight for a very long time.
Since her husband announced he was retiring, fans are eager to learn more about her.
Born on October 4, 1948, in New Bern, North Carolina, Linda McMahon is the wife of former WWE CEO and chairman, Vince McMahon.
The couple tied the knot in 1966 and went on to found WWE together.
Her husband Vince retired as CEO in July 2022, amid sexual misconduct claims.
In July 2023, the former boss had spinal surgery, which was a “major, life-altering operation”.
Linda served as CEO of the WWE from 1997 until 2009 but stepped down to pursue a career in public office.
She ran twice for a US Senate seat in Connecticut in 2010 and 2012 but was unsuccessful.
On September 25, 2024, is releasing a documentary about her husband called Mr McMahon.
Walking down the aisle
Linda met Vince when she was 13, and he was 16.
The young pair then dated during their time in High School.
Shortly after she graduated, he asked her to marry him.
They wed on August 26, 1966, when she was 17, and he was 21.
Their son Shane was born in 1970, followed by daughter Stephanie in 1976.
Working for the White House
Linda was picked by Donald Trump to serve as the administrator of the Small Business Administration in late 2016.
At the time, Trump said: “Linda has a tremendous background and is widely recognised as one of the country’s top female executives advising businesses around the globe.
He continued: “Linda is going to be a phenomenal leader and champion for small businesses and unleash America’s entrepreneurial spirit all across the country.”
Linda’s cabinet-level position lasted from February 2017 until April 2019.
The department’s role is to aid, counsel, assist, and protect the interests of small business concerns.
The McMahons had crossed paths with Trump before Linda’s appointment, when the tycoon-turned-President appeared in a WWE bout with Mr McMahon in Wrestlemania 23, in a fight dubbed the Battle of the Billionaires.
Intercontinental Champion Umaga represented McMahon while Bobby Lashley fought for Trump.
The former president famously tackled McMahon to the floor before shaving his head in the ring.
