Though despite the hefty outlay, Brit families might be left disappointed by the news that the crackers do not carry Christmas hats or jokes.

The manufacturers use especially selected exotic paper sourced from India, super sheer ribbon from Cheshire, poinsettia flowers, and even goose feathers to add.

The cost includes each diamond being set by Tresor Paris in an especially classic designed item of jewellery.

One pack, totalling £807,000, typically includes six crackers ranging from £85,000 to £247,000 depending on the jewellery design.

A donation of £1,000 will be made to The Prince's Trust charity should the Diamond Christmas Crackers be purchased.
