What’s new in Apple iOS 10.2? New release for iPhone and iPad – here’s what we know

APPLE has launched its latest software update for iPhones and iPads iOS 10.2.
The last update of this software was released on Halloween as iOS 10.1.1.
Beta versions of the latest software were released throughout the intervening weeks to work out any potential kinks before the official release date.
iOS 10.2 contains a load of new features and a bunch of bug fixes set to improve Apple fans experience with their devices.
Here The Sun takes you through a few of the questions you might have about the shiny new software.
How do I get iOS 10.2?
iOS 10.2 can be installed easily by either hooking up your device to iTunes having downloaded the update onto your computer, or directly through your phone.
To upgrade on you handset simply open Settings, then select General and then open up Software Update in the menus.
The update is available on iPhone 5 models and later, fourth generation iPads or later and the sixth generation of the iPod touch or later.
What's new in iOS 10.2?
New Wallpapers
Brand spanking new wallpapers have been added to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models and have been dubbed: Droplet Blue, Droplet Red and Droplet Yellow.
Emoji-nal change
They also come in a smorgasbord of races and skin tones.
Avocado's have also been added to the selection of vegetables to allow hipsters to accurately express their breakfasts through the medium.
iMprovments to iMessage
Apple's instant messaging service now has background effects that can be added to text messages.
This feature only works if the receiver of the message has also upgraded their device.
The last update allowed senders to add balloons, lasers, confetti, fireworks and shooting stars to their messages.
This new update puts two more effects into the hands of users named "celebrate" and "send with love".
Camera change up
The camera app now has a "preserve" feature that allows users to keep the camera in the mode they left it in.
So rather than it automatically switching back to the default camera setting it remains in the one they want.
For example if you want to make sure your snaps are always #InstagramReady and keep them in a filtered square format, you now can by selecting "Preserve Settings" feature in the "Photos & Camera section of the Settings menu.
A Videos widget has also been added to the home screen taking users to the latest films they have added to their camera roll.
Headphone Icon
Following the abolition of the headphone jack Apple have included a Headphone Icon so you know when they are connected now you can't simply check by plugging them in.
US only New TV App
Americans have the luxury of a new TV app which will provide them with recommendations for new movies and TV shows in a "Watch Now" section .
It will also allow you to operate a single sign in feature to let you sync passwords across your various TV Apps.
