He added: “Horrific doesn’t come close to describing what it felt like. Jake could have died and they just left him at the roadside to die. What kind of people can do that to a young boy?"
The schoolboy was rushed to intensive care at Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he underwent a three-hour operation.
He suffered a nasty head injury, broken leg and arm, facial injuries, fractured ankle, bruised lungs and his spleen was torn in two.
Cops are now hunting the biker but David says the family feel "let down" by police, claiming they have been "left in the dark".
Chief Inspector Kerry Blakeman, from West Midlands Police, said: “We continue to appeal for information following a hit and run in Castle Vale last Wednesday, December 7, where a young boy was seriously injured.
“The 11-year-old was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
“This was a shocking incident for the boy, his family and indeed our officers who were immediately dispatched to the scene and started the investigation to hunt for the motorcyclist who failed to stop."
She added: “I have personally spoken to the parents of the boy and assured them that we are doing everything we can to find the person responsible.
As a father I fully understand the family’s anguish and like them, we wish the lad a speedy recovery.
“The rider now needs to do the right thing and come forward.”
Anyone with information about the driver is urged to call 101 quoting log 1370 7/12.
