Elvis impersonator ‘repeatedly sexually abused girl from the age of four for five years’
Derrel Weaver denies 12 counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency
AN Elvis impersonator has been accused of a string of child sex offences said to have begun when a girl was just four-years-old.
Derrel Weaver, 62, of Looe, Cornwall, is said to have committed the offences over five years.
Weaver walked into Truro Crown Court on crutches and wearing a pair of Elvis-style aviator glasses as the case against him was opened.
The alleged victim, interviewed by police in 2015, gave evidence via a video link.
She sobbed as she told jurors that she had contacted police before having been unable to shake off her memories of Weaver.

She said: "I spent some time away and I tried to forget about him but I couldn't, it just stays there.
"I felt worried and guilty that he was doing this to others and I wanted to speak out. I felt brave enough."
Weaver has denied 12 counts of indecently assaulting the girl and two further counts of committing an act of gross indecency against her.
The trial continues.
