THIS is the horrifying moment Russian troops were seen firing on their own troops as their soldiers tried to surrender as Ukraine reclaims key territory around the town of Bakhmut.
The village of Andriivka has seen fierce fighting in recent days as the Ukrainian counteroffensive is making major progress.
A video shared on Telegram showed Ukrainian troops under fire as they surrounded Russian positions.
In the mist of the chaos, three Russian soldiers are seen making their way over the ruins of the village and lying down to surrender.
As the Ukrainians move to approach and disarm the soldiers, suddenly a massive explosion struck where the Russian soldiers had laid down.
One of Putin's soldiers died in the explosion, and the other two were taken prisoner by Ukrainian troops.

The 3rd Separate Assault Infantry Brigade said: "A fantastic story that happened during the storming of Andriivka.
"Assault group 2 of the mechanised battalion takes another group of prisoners.
"At the same time the enemy, realising that the village is lost and his soldiers are surrendering en masse, orders to open ‘fire on their own.’
"Luck plays a role in war. The most important shots of the operation are ahead.”

The now destroyed village of Andriivka was liberated, Ukraine announced, after the "lightning operation" on the ground which liquidated "the whole of Russia's 72nd infantry brigade."
