You can now visit The Church of Nativity from your armchair with this amazing new virtual reality experience app
THIS amazing 360 degree video shows the REAL Nativity scene where Jesus is believed to have been born.
You can visit The Church of Nativity in Bethlehem from your armchair thanks to a new virtual reality experience which has been released just in time for Christmas.
The footage is from Bible VR, an app which aims to bring the bible to life, and even includes a full-size replica Noah's Ark and tour of the Holy Land, including the site where Jesus was crucified.
The video even comes complete with your very own tour guide called Danny Herman, also known as Danny The Digger, a local who is well known for his quality tours of the area in real life.
Director and producer Pearry Teo shot the new footage from Bethlehem, which he says will give millions more people a peek at 'one of the most fascinating holy sites in the world'.
He said:"Aside from the fact that the foundations of Christianity began with the birth of Jesus Christ and The Church of Nativity marks the spot where tradition believes he was born, The Church of Nativity in Bethlehem is one of the oldest and most major holy site in the world.
"I believe in keeping tradition alive by sharing with people the wonders of the world, its rich history and to open the eyes of those who may never have a chance to visit Israel and The Holy Land.
"This is more than just Christianity. For those interested in history, architecture or geography, it is a peek at one of the most fascinating holy sites in the world.
"There was certainly a sense of overwhelming indescribable holiness - profound silence and peacefulness pervades the entire location.
"The authorities who gave me permission to film in there were very helpful and amazingly pleasant.
"There is definitely an air around the place when you go there.
You do not have to be Christian to feel something deeper… something special all around you.
"Even Muslims come from all over to pay their respects there, so that was definitely an eye opener.
"To see people of different religions and denominations come together, that was truly a wonderful thing."
The footage was shoot on a Nokia OZO VR camera and has been left unaltered for the most realistic effect.
Pearry added: "Traditional filming allows you to see what the documentarian or filmmaker chooses you should see.
"360 lets the viewer explore at their own pace, take the time to really absorb what it would really be like being there.
"It is the closest thing to experiencing The Holy Land, short of being there yourself. This makes the experience very personal, because how a person explores these locations is really up to them."
The Bible VR app is available on the Google Play store and iOS.
