Brit tourist raped after ‘being lured into car by two men who offered her a lift to her hotel’ in Benidorm
A BRITISH woman was allegedly raped on holiday in Benidorm by two men who offered to give her a lift back to her hotel.
Cops have arrested two suspects after the young tourist was reportedly attacked at one of their homes.
The woman had been out partying and was waiting for a taxi when the men offered to drive her back to her hotel.
She was assaulted at one of their homes after they lured her into the car and she fell asleep in the backseat, according to reports.
Cops said the woman then alerted police she found on the street after “escaping” the house where she was allegedly raped.
The suspects, both Algerian nationals aged 39 and 44, are being held in custody as local cops investigate.
The horror attack, which happened in August, led to the two arrests last month.
Police said one of the men was being hunted by authorities over a violent robbery just two days before the rape.
The young woman, whose exact age has not been revealed, apparently gave the men £13 for the lift to her hotel.
A spokesperson for the Civil Guard said: “She had just left a nightspot which had been about to close in a popular going-out area frequented by tourists in Benidorm.
“After agreeing to travel with them and paying the cash, she fell asleep which is when both suspects allegedly took advantage of the situation to take her to one of their homes and sexually attack her.
“The incident occurred in the early hours of August 25.
“The holidaymaker was waiting for a taxi in Benidorm to take her back to her hotel after going out partying and the suspects offered to take her in return for money.”
Local police analysed CCTV footage from the area to identify the car that picked her up.
They are understood to have reviewed the movements of around 30,000 vehicles so far.
