Drunk yob downed ten shots of vodka and wrestled Thomson flight crew after stealing bottle of champagne on Ibiza flight back to UK
Daniel Beacock was jailed for four months at Sheffield Crown Court
A DRUNKEN yob who wrestled cabin crew staff after stealing a bottle of champagne on a flight back from Ibiza has been jailed.
Daniel Beacock, aged 43, downed the equivalent of ten shots of vodka before violence erupted on board the Thomson flight - and was arrested after landing.
Sheffield Crown Court heard Beacock put the flight, which was heading to Doncaster Sheffield Airport, in jeopardy.
Shameless Beacock, from Scunthorpe, even bragged on Facebook that he was having a "party" in the Sheffield Crown Court precinct, just hours before his court appearance.
A picture he posted appeared to show him drinking Smirnoff vodka from a water bottle. The post read: "Sheffield Crown, Smirnoff in a water bottle.
"There's a party over here."
Michael Tooley, prosecuting, said Beacock boarded the Thomson flight from Ibiza to Doncaster Sheffield Airport on May 25 this year.
He siad cabin crew were made aware he was drinking his own vodka and confiscated it, saying he could have it back at the end of the flight.
But, Mr Tooley added: "That was not the end of the matter.
"Later in the flight the defendant was seen to take a bottle of champagne from the duty free trolley.

The defendant was advised to put the bottle back. He didn't and there was an argument between cabin crew and the defendant."
Following his arrest, Beacock denied being abusive or threatening and told police he was just "a bit tipsy".
Beacock, from Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to two charges under the Civil Aviation Act 2009 - and was jailed for four months.
Craig Lowe, defending, said Beacock was "sorry and thoroughly ashamed" of what he had done and his judgement was clouded due to drink.
Mr Lowe added: "The defendant has no relevant previous convictions and volunteers in the community three times a week as a boxing coach helping disadvantaged children.
Judge Paul Watson QC told Beacock: "At 43 years of age you should know better.
"Your actions put this flight in jeopardy. People who work on aircraft work hard to keep their passengers safe and the last thing they needed was to deal with your drunken violence."
Beacock said: "Oh, does that mean prison then? " as he was led away to the cells.
Earlier this year, four “drunk” women were chucked off a flight from Manchester to Ibiza following accusations that they were “being racist, rude and threatening other passengers”.
