Body of man who vanished more than 10 years ago is found in woodland Wales
THE body of a man who vanished more than 10 years ago has been found in woodland in Wales.
Anthony Lewis, 64, from Cheshire was first reported missing on July 5 2012.
His abandoned car was located in Snowdonia a week later sparking a frantic police search to find him but Anthony could not be found.
His failure to contact his family was described as “totally out of character” by cops searching for him.
Now, over a decade later, Anthony’s body has been discovered.
A member of the public found human remains in woodland near the village of Dolgarrog on September 25.
The site is around five miles from where his car was discovered.
An opening inquest heard that the provisional cause of death was asphyxia due to inhalation of helium.
The hearing heard that Mr Lewis was identified via dental records, according to reports in the Wrexham Leader.
Kate Robertson, assistant coroner for North Wales East and Central, adjourned a full inquest to a later date.
