Angler stunned after reeling in package of cocaine worth £1million near Isle of Wight
A SEA angler’s biggest catch of the day was cocaine worth £1million.
Ron Rapp had his lines set up on his boat when he saw three bundles floating in the water.
He rang the Coastguard believing they could be part of a drug shipment.
Ron, who was fishing with his family, waited until boat cops scooped up the packages from the sea near The Needles, off the Isle of Wight.
He said: “Then we actually managed to catch some fish — so it wasn’t a bad day.”
Criminals dumped the drugs — thought to have been brought from South America on a cargo ship — in The Solent.

Ron’s find on Sunday came after holdalls filled with drugs were found off the Dorset coast and an Isle of Wight beach.
Last night, at least ten kilos of cocaine was found washed up on a beach in West Sussex.
Hundreds of kilos of the illegal drug were first found in the sea off St Aldhelm’s Point and Durdle Door in Dorset on October 2 by a stunned fisherman.
A second batch was found on a beach by litter-pickers on the west coast of the Isle of Wight on Saturday.
