Lucy Letby ‘is inseparable from baby killer Michelle Smith and schoolgirl murderer Shauna Hoare in prison’
LUCY Letby reportedly befriended a baby killer and schoolgirl murderer while in prison before her trial.
Letby, 33, who was convicted of seven murders and seven attempted killings in August, is said to have become "inseparable" from Michelle Smith and Shauna Hoare while at HMP Bronzefield, Surrey.
"They’d spend hours sitting on the wing landing playing board games, eating dinner together and tanning in the courtyard.
“I think they got on because they all believed they were innocent.”
Letby has since been moved to the north of England while Hoare was last month freed halfway through her 17-year sentence for manslaughter.
Another source added: “It’s a good job they’ve been separated. They are the last people you would want associating with each other.”
In August, Letby became only the fourth woman to receive a whole-life order in Britain – after serial killers Rose West, Joanna Dennehy and Moors murderer Myra Hindley.
Letby became a prime suspect when the number of baby deaths and catastrophic collapses at the hospital significantly rose.
Consultants grew concerned when they realised the children who died had “deteriorated unexpectedly”.
The nurse was found to be the "common denominator” among the deaths and collapses.
She is now being held at HMP New Hall in Flockton, West Yorkshire, which has also been home to Rosemary West and where prison chiefs have said inmates are treated as equals.
