A statement released by the CCA said it believed the crash took place at around 5.23pm local time (11.23pm GMT).

It also revealed it will be investigating the cause of the crash.

The plane, operated by Bolivian-based charter airline Lamia, was flying from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, in Bolivia, to Medellin, in Colombia.
