PARKING MAD

Super-rich kid has string of parking fines for his £250k Lamborghini cancelled because ‘road markings were in the wrong place’

A SUPER rich 21-year-old who racked up a series of fines for parking his £250,000 Lamborghini Huracan has had six of them scrapped because council workmen painted road marking in the wrong place.

Ash White's lurid orange supercar was plastered with at least seven tickets when he brazenly left it parked illegally in Cheltenham including in a space reserved for the Mayor outside the Town Hall.

But the fashion tycoon - who pricey ripped jeans are worn by some of the cast of Geordie Shore - claimed victory after he successfully argued the road markings should have been painted outside the bay.

Parking campaigner Nigel Wise, who appealed the fines on his behalf, said he challenged six tickets issued for parking in the Mayor's bay.

He told : "All six tickets were cancelled.

"Their excuse for cancelling four tickets was because they had been incorrectly issued for the wrong contravention.

"Their excuse for cancelling the remaining two tickets was because they say that the legend 'Mayor's Car' was painted inside the bay and not outside it."

He added: "They then wasted taxpayers money and had the legend repainted outside the bay.

"They left the original legend inside the bay. This did not make the bay enforceable as there is no such recognised restriction as a 'Mayor's Car' bay."
Her claims the marking does not comply with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.

But Gloucestershire County Council said that legislation was out of date and insisted the markings are legally enforceable.

It said Mr White had paid some of the tickets and others were rescinded because the words "Mayor's Car" should be outside the bay so it is visible when a car is parked there.

Parking manager Jim Daniels said: "Our civil enforcement officers are out patrolling the county to make sure that restrictions are followed.

"The restrictions are intended to make parking easier for residents and visitors alike.

"On this occasion, some of the tickets issued were paid in full by the vehicle owner and others were appealed and rescinded."

Ash White, who lives in Cheltenham and runs the Hera fashion company in London, has previously boasted he does not care about the cost of parking fines because he can afford it.

He said: "There isn't anywhere to park in Cheltenham and I'm not going to walk or take a taxi from a car park to get into town so I'm forced to park in different places.

"I don't mind paying up, the tickets don't bother me."

Last week Brooklyn Beckham scored his fourth parking ticket in two months on his £37,000 Mercedes.

And in October we told how the owner of a £400,000 rose gold Lamborghini Aventador would rather get a ticket for parking on double yellows than risk damage to his motor in public car parks.
