Mum-of-one Ariane was killed instantly in the horror smash – leaving behind her 15-month-old son.

The collision was so violent that her right foot was completely severed and she was thrown from her seat despite being belted in.

She died from asphyxia and a cervical fracture.

Ariane’s childhood friend, Layse, was also a mother of one and leaves behind her five-year-old son, as well as her husband.

She was pulled from the driver’s seat of the mangled car and taken to A&E in Boa Vista in critical condition.

Multiple injuries to her face and body, including an accumulation of blood between her lungs and chest wall, required her to be operated on.

However, she died of a cardiac arrest in the ICU around 4pm that day.

The driver of the other vehicle, Fernando Takao Marisihiqui Filho, has been charged with two counts of murder.

The 23-year-old and his 27-year-old passenger were also taken to A&E but with minor injuries.

Police said that Fernando had alcohol breath and bloodshot eyes while being quizzed in hospital.

After being discharged, he was taken to a police station.

He was allegedly doing 62mph in a 37 mph zone after swigging vodka moments before the accident and had already drunk four cans of beer that night.

However, he was not breathalysed, according to reports.

Fernando was initially charged with manslaughter but prosecutors managed to get judges to upgrade the charge to murder.

The engineering student, who had no previous criminal record, is on remand in prison.

His lawyer, Lucio Tonelli, told local media: “He had no intention of causing this and would never want to cause someone’s death.”

Ariane won the overall title on her debut in the Miss Bikini competition in Boa Vista in 2016.

She was training for the Roraima Classic bodybuilding competition in April 2024.

Her friend, 34-year-old PE teacher Nayara dos Santos Souza Barros, told local media: “I’m sad because she was going to win.

“She was already training; she had big dreams and was very hard-working and dedicated.”
