Man on a mobility scooter attacked by ‘XL Bully’ as he tried to stop beast from mauling his dog
A MAN on a mobility scooter was attacked by an XL Bully-type dog as he tried to stop the beast from mauling his own pet.
The horror unfolded in Birchwood when the man was taking his dog for a walk.
The beast was said to have approached the man's dog - understood to be a German Shepherd - before pouncing on it.
He then tried to intervene to save his pooch and was bitten in the process.
Another man then tried to help and was also attacked by the beast.
A third man was said to have raced in to help, putting the dog on a lead, before a woman rushed over, saying the dog was hers.

The attack comes as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has vowed to ban the controversial XL Bully breed by the end of the year.
It comes after a series of serious and fatal attacks in recent weeks.
