Urgent warning to parents after ‘two men tried to abduct kids’ outside school on Halloween

The head teacher has questioned whether kids should be walking home alone in the dark

PARENTS have been told to be extra vigilant after two men in a van "tried to abduct" kids over Halloween.

Youngsters were targeted outside a school near Clapham Common, south London, on Tuesday evening.

Parents at Eaton House Schools were informed of the horror via an email on Wednesday, .

Principle Sarah Segrave said: “It has come to our attention that there was an attempted abduction of children last night by two men driving a dark grey van.

"Be vigilant and report any concerning situations to the police immediately”.

The alleged incident reportedly took place at around 7.30pm near the junction of Nansen Road and Forthbridge Road.

Ms Segrave said parents should consider whether they want their little ones walking home alone in the dark.

Eaton House The Manor, opposite Clapham Common, includes a school for boys aged between two and 13 and one for girls aged between two and 11.

Eaton House runs fee-paying schools in Clapham and Belgravia.

The Metropolitan Police said it had no record of the incident.
