Driver escapes jail after going berserk with hammer when he found wife naked in his pal’s lorry
Furious Gabor Simon followed his wife, only to find she was having an affair with friend he had invited to stay at their home
A TRUCKER who caught his wife naked in a lorry with a pal has walked free after confronting them with a hammer.
Gabor Simon went berserk on seeing cheating Bettina in a “state of undress” in the lorry’s cab.
The 39-year-old trucker, who suspected his wife was having a fling, became suspicious when she claimed to be popping to the supermarket.
Simon, who is originally from Hungary but has lived in Gravesend, Kent for around five years, followed her to a nearby business park, where lorry drivers regularly park up for a rest.
He spotted a HGV with Hungarian registration plates and tapped on the cab door, only to find his wife naked with another trucker Istuan Gozan.
Simon, who was with the couple’s four-year-old daughter, waved the hammer and yelled: “You’ve stolen my wife but you won’t take my kids.”
Cops were called and Simon admitted threatening behaviour.
He received 12 weeks’ jail suspended for 19 months and must pay £535 costs.
Maidstone crown court heard he suffered “extreme provocation” as he had found fellow Hungarian Gozan a job and put him up when he arrived in the UK.
Mum-of-two Bettina last night insisted her 15-year marriage was over by the time of the incident in October.
She said: “Divorce proceedings had started. My husband didn’t want to believe it was over, so I let him follow me. It was the only thing I could do.”
She now plans to move Gozan into her home.
