Horsforth School: Boy, 15, rushed to hospital after being seriously injured outside school as cops arrest teen

Multiple air ambulances and police are said to be at the scene

A TEENAGE boy has been rushed to hospital today after being seriously injured outside a school as cops arrested a teen.

Police were called to the Town Street area near Horsforth School & Sixth Form at Horsforth in Leeds at around 3pm.

The 15-year-old was rushed to hospital and is currently in a critical condition.

Cops said a teenage male has been arrested.

Multiple air ambulances, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and police are said to be at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to the Town Street area in Horsforth at 2.57pm today to a report a teenager had been assaulted and seriously injured.

"Emergency services attended and a 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition.   

"Police cordons are in place and a teenage male has been arrested in connection with the incident. 

"Enquiries into what took place are ongoing by Leeds District CID."

In a statement to parents, Horsforth School, headteacher Paul Bell said: “You will be aware of a distressing incident in the community today involving a former student who was stabbed on St Margaret’s Avenue. 

“The police are aware and are working with the school. 

“Our thoughts and sympathies lie with the his at this time while the student is receiving medical treatment. 

“We are aware the distress and upset this has caused students and staff who know the student.”
