Thousands of Aussie revellers head to Bondi Beach to soak up the sun
THOUSANDS of festive Aussie revellers ditched their dreams of snow for sand, sun and waves this Christmas.
Tourists and locals dressed in Christmas gear faced temperatures of 27.4C as they descended on the famous Bondi Beach, Sydney, for December 25th celebrations.
Giant inflatable reindeer towered over sunbathers donning Santa hats as the beach transformed into a sandy winter wonderland.
Sweaty punters took to social media as they got in the Christmas spirit on the party beach.

As beach-goers flocked to the water, one lifeguard said: "Probably the busiest I've seen it on a Christmas day to be honest. But looking at the conditions you can see why."
A beaming Canadian tourist told : "We've travelled all the way from Canada to be here today, just for Christmas on Bondi Beach."
Meanwhile in Adelaide, the south Australian capital, temperatures climbed to 40.7C setting a record for the day.
"The last time when we had about 40C on Christmas Day was in 1945 and the temperature back then was 40.1C, so we’ve broken that record," duty forecaster Kenneth Cheung said.
Ex-tropical cyclone Yvette was even expected to cross Western Australia’s Kimberley Coast on Christmas Day as a low pressure system before ebbing on Boxing Day.
