Poundland joins Boxing Day sales mania as budget store flogs items for just FIFTY PENCE

The budget store is selling items including the Home Alone DVD and Christmas crackers for just 50p

THRIFTY shoppers got a Boxing Day surprise when Poundland started flogging stock - for fifty pence.

Bargain hunters took to social media to declare their shock after walking into the budget store yesterday.

Among the items being flogged for half price included a Home Alone DVD, a Simpsons mugs and Christmas crackers.

Announcing the sale, the store tweeted: "Our 50p sale is now on in stores! Christmas decorations, gift wrap & more are now 50p."

Dozens of Brits readying themselves to raid the shelves could barely contain their excitement at the news.

Ryan Crooks wrote: "Even Poundland is having a maaaad Boxing Day sale."

While Aimee Rowlands tweeted: "No way is Poundland doing a 50p sale what."

More than 14 million Brits hit the high street today to catch the sales.
