VILE thugs have threatened to hang a dog from "the nearest tree" unless a family cough up a £13,000 ransom.
The worried owners were horrified to receive the threatening call demanding money from the dognappers who nicked their hound just before Christmas.
Pedigree boxer, Finn, was taken from his owner Joy Brochert and her family on December 7 from Ballybay, Ireland.
The Brochert family had offered a reward of £4,000 on Facebook for the safe return of the much loved pooch.
But soon after they received the sick threat against the dog's life.
Joy told the : “A man rang around lunchtime and demanded €15,000 (£13,000) by the end of the day or else he would hang Finn from the nearest tree.

“He sounded hysterical and I couldn’t reason with him at all, he just wanted the money immediately, and now I am in a terrible state as I don’t know whether it was a genuine ransom demand or someone's sick joke."
Joy was devastated when she found out Finn had gone missing with his severed collar left in their front garden.
The family have notified the Irish police but are terrified as they don't know how serious the threat against their beloved pet's life is.
They are still offering a €5,000 (£4,000) reward for Finn's safe return on the the Bring Finn Home Facebook page.
