Our Christmas has been totally ruined after cruel burglars broke into our home and stole our most-treasured possessions
A COUPLE says they are devastated after burglars broke into their home and stole treasured possessions ruining their Christmas.
Adele Parker, 34, and Dean Bowman 35, were the victims of theft after burglars broke into their home in Durham.
The couple who also have a 14-month-old daughter were horrified when they found that the intruders had pried their bedroom window open to get into the property on Monday evening.
Among the items that were stolen were a silver crucifix pendant which belonged to Adele's late grandmother and a customised gaming computer Dean had made with his friend who took his own life.
In total, it is believed that the burglars stole around £1,500 worth of items and none of the contents were insured by the couple.
Speaking to Adele said: "I broke down when I realised what had happened.

"We don't want to sleep in our room because they have been in our personal space.
"We just can't settle.
"It's just awful to think that someone has been in your home."
She added: "And it couldn't have happened at a worse time of year. Christmas is just not going to be the same."

Adele knew they had been burgled once she returned home on Monday evening.
She later said: "They had prised the window open somehow and they had gone in and taken everything out the bedroom."
Adding: "There's been sentimental items taken."
After realising they had been robbed Adele went round the house to see what else was taken - only to find the burglars had also taken their PS5 game console, multiple PS5 games and a flat-screen TV.
Adele said: "They must have gone round the house.
"They had been through the kitchen drawers.
She later added: "The pedant means a lot more to me than the money.
"It's the sentimental stuff that means a lot."

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police are investigating a burglary which happened at a property in Esh Winning, sometime between 1pm and 8.30pm on Monday (November 27).
"Several items were stolen during the burglary, including a custom-built computer, flatscreen television, PlayStation 5 and a number of games."
