Facebook has a secret special feature to put the spark into your New Year celebrations
Social media site reveals new way to join in the fun and celebrate the start of 2017
FACEBOOK have revealed a new feature to help celebrate New Year - fireworks on your newsfeed.
During today and tomorrow, any time you click the phrase Happy New Year fireworks will burst across the screen.
Phrases which trigger the animation will appear in blue in status updates and comments on both the desktop and mobile version.
If you use Facebook Live to post a video, there will be "masks" that you can use similar to Snapchat filters.
You can also join in the fun on Google Chat, which will show an animation when you say Happy New Year to your friends, and Google search has a unique doodle of a cartoon of balloons waiting to be freed at midnight.
