LISTEN to the Left’s demented rage over the new trans guidelines for schools, which are sensible and moderate even to a fault.
Teachers have tip-toed through a minefield for years as super-woke activists seek to impose their gender madness.
So this Government steer will be welcomed by everyone still living in the real world.
It says that transitioning should be extremely rare and not driven by peer pressure.
That single-sex spaces like toilets should be protected.
That teachers must not be punished for failing to use a pupil’s chosen pronouns unless the school agrees they can change gender, which it can refuse to do.

With few exceptions, parents should be involved in the decision.
This strikes us as balanced — a sharp contrast with trans militants’ demands for anyone’s self-identification to become unarguable reality, enshrined in law.
But some Tories are understandably dismayed it is not legally binding.
Every woke teacher or school can flout them and will, especially if they think a Labour Government would overturn the lot.

So it’s a dead duck.
