DEATH PLUNGE

Putin crony, 46, dies in ANOTHER mystery plunge from window as Russian officials claim he suffered ‘heart problems’

The Putin crony was forced to leave the city administration in 2016 after a corruption scandal

VLADIMIR Egorov, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been found dead after a suspected fall from a third-floor window.

A member of the ruling party United Russia, 46-year-old Egorov was a wealthy and prominent politician in oil-rich Tobolsk in western Siberia.

His dead body was reportedly found in the yard of his house, with one source claiming there was "no visible sign of a criminal death on the [politician's] body."

An interlocutor said: "One of the most likely reasons is heart problems."

Egorov is just the latest of many in the Kremlin's inner circle to die under mysterious circumstances.

According to the 72 news outlet, he may have suffered heart problems - although such issues have frequently been offered as an explanation for untimely or suspicious deaths in Russia that have soared since the start of the war against Ukraine.

It is unclear how Egorov's supposed heart problems related to him falling about 30ft from a third-floor window.

The report said: "In the near future, pathologists will conduct an autopsy to establish the true cause of Egorov's death."

News outlet Baza stated: "Police are now investigating what exactly caused his fall."

Egorov, a trained lawyer with business interests, was forced to leave the city administration in 2016 over a corruption scandal for which he was ultimately not convicted.

He later returned to politics and became the wealthiest local deputy in Tobolsk. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

It comes after Lukoil tycoon Ravil Maganov, 67, fell from a window of Moscow’s elite Central Clinical Hospital - known to some as the Kremlin clinic - in September last year.

Maganov was also reported to have been suffering heart problems.

Speculation swirled that his death could have been a murder, but reports indicated he had been in hospital for a longstanding heart problem and died on the spot after falling six floors from a window.

In February, top Russian defence official and key figure in the funding of Putin's illegal war in Ukraine Marina Yankina, 58, also fell 160ft to her death in St Petersburg.

She was head of the financial support department of the Ministry of Defence for the Western Military District, which is closely involved in the dictator’s invasion.
