Armed gunman on the run after shooting two police officers in Switzerland
Cops were reportedly searching a house when the attacker opened fire this morning
A "DANGEROUS" gunman is on the loose in Switzerland after two police officers were shot in the northern municipality of Rehetobel.
The officers were searching the man at roughly 9am local time when the 33-year-old attacker opened fire today, Swiss police have said.
The two cops were airlifted to hospital but the seriousness of their injuries is unclear,
A manhunt is underway to trace the gunman and the shootings are reportedly not thought to be terror-related.

Police spokesman Hans Peter Axer said: "It is certain that one of the two officers was wounded by a bullet."
A villager told Swiss paper that he was stopped by the police when he wanted to leave the town by car.
He added: "I do not feel comfortable".
The double shooting comes just days after a gunman shot three worshippers in an Islamic prater centre in the Swiss city of Zurich.
A huge manhunt was launched to find the attacker before his body was found.
