Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty and Brit husband Raj Kundra pay tribute to fashion designer friend who was killed in Istanbul attack

The heartbroken star and Brit businessman husband described their sadness after death of Indian Khushi Shah on New Year's Eve

BOLLYWOOD superstar Shilpa Shetty paid an emotional tribute to a family friend who was killed in the Istanbul New Year's Eve nightclub attack.

Fashion designer Khushi Shah was among two Indians murdered in cold blood during the horror gun rampage.

She had been in the Turkish city on a business trip from her native city of Vadodara.

Bollywood director Abis Rizvi, 49, was also among the 39 killed in the Reina nightclub.

He had been in the middle of making his second movie.

Responding to the deaths, heartbroken Shetty wrote: "Life is so unpredictable my heart goes out to the families that have lost their near and dear ones. RIP @Khushiz1"

Chami and Wardini were inside Istanbul’s plush Reina nightclub, on the shores of the Bosphorus waterway, when it was stormed by a gunman around 1.30am local time.

Arriving by taxi the gunman produced a weapon, reportedly a Kalashnikov, and shot dead a policeman and civilian at the entrance.

He then fired off four magazines containing a total of 120 bullets around the club which was filled with an estimated 700 people.

Terrified guests flung themselves into the freezing waters of the Bosphorus in panic.

But after changing clothes, the gunman left the nightclub in the ensuing chaos and has so far managed to evade security forces.

Thirty nine people died in the shooting, with 70 others injured.

The victims included citizens of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, France, Tunisia, India, Morocco, Jordan, Kuwait, Canada, Israel, Syria, Belgium, Germany and Russia.

Turkish police believe the attack was carried out by an ISIS fanatic.

The Kyrgyzstan national is believed to have been a well-trained gunman who learnt how to fight in the Syrian war.

He recorded a sick selfie video before the murderous rampage.
