New Dry January ‘detox beer’ won’t give you a hangover and here’s why
Kicking the booze? This might change your mind
AS DRY January beckons, millions are giving up the booze.
But if you can’t kick the urge for a lager, the next best thing is at hand.
Scottish craft brewer Innis & Gunn have made a gutsy pale ale that they claim is the first detoxing beer to hit the market.
At a spine-shuddering 0.0percent it contains vitamin C and ginseng which are often claimed to boost the immune system.
The brewers have thrown in Guarana too – which supplement manufacturers peddle as a weight loss enhancer.
It may be news to most of the UK, but Dougal Gunn Sharp, founder and master brewer at Innis & Gunn claimed “great beer does not necessarily have to contain alcohol”.
He said: “We approached brewing Innis & None, as we do with any of our beers, using quality ingredients to produce a bold flavoursome taste."
“Taking the alcohol content down to zero is part of our belief that beer is for everyone, even those who don’t or can’t consume alcohol. I believe this pale ale stands up to the best of them. With the added Vitamin C and ginseng, you’re now also getting a boost to the immune system for the New Year.”
