Hillary and Bill Clinton WILL go to Trump’s inauguration, despite bitter presidential battle

Defeated Democrat nominee confirms attendance after ex-President and Trump critic George Bush says he will be there

HILLARY Clinton WILL attend the inauguration of Donald Trump as US President.

Putting aside the gruelling race to the White House, the defeated Democrat nominee will be present on Capitol Hill in Washington with husband and ex-president Bill Clinton.

Trump had blasted former Republican candidate Jeb Bush, the brother of the ex-President, during the party nomination trail.

He labelled the former Florida Governor, 63, as "low energy".

is reporting the Clintons have confirmed their attendance, while says former President Jimmy Carter, 92 will go to the event on 20 January.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for George Bush Sr has ruled out the former President, citing the 92-year-old's age as the reason.

It is customary for the outgoing President to attend the handover, cementing the Obamas Barack and Michelle as attendees.

The Clinton's attendance is in keeping with past elections where defeated contenders make an appearance at the ceremony.

However, there were rumours that Hillary — who won the popular vote by two million ballots — may be a no-show after such a fraught campaign.
