LEFT TO RUST

Abandoned Ferraris, BMWs and Mercedes feature in incredible images of forgotten cars that have been reclaimed by nature

Petrolhead photographer travelled across Germany and Belgium capturing eerie images of rust-covered motors

A PETROLHEAD has captured stunning photos of clapped-out cars that have been reclaimed by nature or left to rust.

Kenneth Provost found an abandoned BMW and even a Ferrari as he scoured Belgium and Germany searching for the old bangers.

Provost, a 33-year-old Belgian security guard, said: "In my images, you can see that there is beauty in decay.

"I see memories and beautiful old cars which have a great history that has been long forgotten and hidden by nature.

"I love the thrill and silence when on location, it feels like you are muted to the outside world.

"When people see the photos for the first time, their mouths fall open and questions come to their minds.”

Despite the thrill he gets when exploring abandoned places Kenneth says that urban exploration can be risky.

He added: "Urban exploration is a dangerous type of photography so it’s important that you don’t play with your life when you’re doing it."

Photographer Brendan Clinch visited a quarantine hospital on North Brother Island which was home to a leper colony.
