Rapper from Cornwall is taking the internet by storm with song about PASTIES
Stephen Hole - also known as DJ Steve Heller - has clocked up over 1.2 million online views after he starting rapping little over a year ago
A CORNISH rapper has found online success and a cult-like following after penning a heartfelt and hilarious song about pasties.
Steve Hole, who also goes by the stage name of DJ Steve Heller, has now had more than 1.2m online views after he started to record his unique songs about a year ago.
He raps with a thick Cornish accent and gained loyal fans after releasing 'Camborne That's Me' - his first track - which takes listeners on a musical tour of his favourite hometown haunts.
Since the song, which celebrated Camborne in Cornwall, came out he has not let his fans down and produced hit after hit.
He now has songs about Redruth, Bodmin, Hayle and Penzance in his catalogue.
Now he has released Pasty Shop - which describes his attempts to get a hot pasty.
Sung to the tune of 50 Cent's Candy Shop, Steve switches the lyrics to be more appropriate for a man in search of a tasty Cornish snack.
The Tesco worker sings: "I'll take you to the pasty shop, for a flaky and a can of pop.
"If yer lucky he will be hot, i'll take you to the pasty shop."
Touching on his success he said: "I've been meaning to add up all my song views on Facebook since posting in January and finally got round to doing it.
"The last time I checked it was 500,000 and when I checked today and it's now over 1.2 million.
"The success of the last year has been crazy and I've played some big events including to over 3,500 at the Man Engine visit, opened for The Wurzels at Falmouth week, performed at Kernow in the City in London and even switched on the Redruth Christmas lights.
"With so many people making music these days and it being so accessible, it's hard to get anyone to listen to your music. I started making music properly in 2012 and there were a few followers but last year it really has taken off."
He raps about anything from Ginsters pasties to drinking cheap cider, and DJs weekly at Zone Nightclub in Redruth.
If he wasn't busy enough he also runs the spoof news site Cornish News.
His original song about Camborne had about 150,000 views and a parody of Usher's Oh My God, which he named Oh My Gar, attracted a similar number of hits.
A music video about chicken nuggets filmed in Hayle proved popular in New Zealand and Ginsters Paradise, a play on Coolio's Gangster's Paradise, also received airtime on Cornwall's Pirate FM.
He has vowed to continue the trend of a successful 2016 and is currently working on songs about Primark and Truro, the capital of Cornwall.
This week Rebecca Ferguson revealed she was asked to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration – and will graciously accept with one condition.
The posted a message on Twitter revealing she would do the performance if she was allowed to sing Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday.
