THIS is the moment a woman causes a blast at her ex's home - after first scrawling a chilling message and setting her own flat alight.

Crazed Lauren Marie Talbot scribbled "this flat can burn in hell" before starting multiple fires inside her home in Northampton.

The 39-year-old later travelled to her ex's home and lit a bottle of butane gas, which she tried to post through his letter box.

After failing to make the accelerant fit, Talbot then left it burning outside his front door and fled with her hood up.

Dramatic footage shows the moment a huge explosion erupts - blowing two doors open in the corridor and cracking the walls.

The carpet was also damaged in the horror but thankfully no one was injured in the blast.

Talbot's ex was not inside his home at the time, although police believe she was hoping he would be when she caused the explosion.

She has now been locked up for six years with an extended period of four years on licence after admitting arson with intent to endanger life.

Northampton Crown Court was told Talbot set her own flat alight on December 21, 2022.

When firefighters arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames, they discovered the eerie note on the wall.

Talbot then carried out the "pre-planned" blast at her ex's home on June 18, 2023.

Detective Constable Roisin Harrison said: “Lauren Talbot’s offending was exceptionally dangerous.

"She could have killed someone as a result of both offences and it’s through sheer luck that no one was injured.

“As you can see in the footage, the carnage she created when she set that can of butane on fire is extensive.

"It could very easily have ended with a large fire throughout the block of flats, causing untold damage, and I hope this is something she reflects on during her time in prison.

“I also want to take this opportunity to thank the man in this case who has supported our investigation from the beginning.

"Luckily he was not in his flat that day, but the incident has understandably had a very real affect on him.

"I hope this result provides him with some semblance of closure.

“I am pleased to see Talbot handed this sentence and I hope it shows how seriously Northamptonshire Police take these kinds of incidents.”
