RUSSIAN marines shattered glass bottles with their heads and smashed burning wooden planks against each other as part of a show of brute force.
The camouflage-clad soldiers showed off their shooting, knife-fighting and martial arts skills during a “goodwill visit” to the Philippines.
One of Putin’s elite marines had to endure having concrete blocks crushed on his stomach after one of his comrades smashed the bricks with a hammer.
And another endured beatings from flaming planks as bewildered passers-by watched at Manila's Rizal Park on Wednesday.
The show culminated with the marines smashing glass bottles on their heads with barely a whimper.
After the display, eager Filipinos rushed to take selfies with the beret-wearing Russians.

The commando team was attached to the anti-submarine ship the Admiral Tributs which has sailed into the Pacific – stoking yet more tensions near the disputed South China Sea.
It is thought Putin is hope to set up the Philippines as a new ally after Duterte’s rage against the US.
