German authorities knew Berlin truck killer Anis Amri had 14 different identities before Christmas market massacre

German cop said authorities were aware of the different identities used by the 24-year-old extremist

AUTHORITIES knew of 14 identities being used by Berlin truck killer Anis Amri, a police official has said.

Tunisian Amri drove into a market on December 19, killing 12 people.

He crossed over four borders before being killed by police four days later in Italy.

Amri came to Germany in mid-2015 and was put on a list of potentially violent Islamic extremists.

He was also investigated for receiving benefits simultaneously under two different identities.

Police chief Dieter Schuermann said evidence of possible attack plans that would stand up in court against Amri could not be found.
