AFTER months out of the country on tour, the Red Arrows have returned to Britain in spectacular fashion.
A photographer captured these incredible images showcasing the legendary pilots practising some of their iconic routines.
Claire Hartley took the images during a beautiful sunset over the base at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire.
The smoke from the planes can be seen being illuminated by the sunset as they soared through the air.
And the images also show the Red Arrows looping over the smoke trails from passing airliners.
Claire, 38, lives near the base.
She spends her spare time photographing the planes.
The photographer said: "It was their second day of training after the Christmas break, prior to that they had been out of the country on tour for a couple of months."
She told followers on Twitter: "Awesome deep blue sky yesterday afternoon" while sharing one of the snaps.
