“He was so affectionate and was looking for love in return. We were all shocked by how friendly he was considering he had such limited human interaction in his life prior to being rescued.”

Sinbad's fur was so heavy his back legs had atrophied as he couldn't walk around with the weight of his matted coat.

He was just 6.63 lbs when they gave him a coat cut - but he has now gone up to 7.25 lbs thanks to the tender loving care of staff at the shelter.

The puss was discovered living in a basement on the southside of Chicago and his owner gave him up as he was struggling to care for the moggy.

His coat was so bad he had to be shaved twice before they could get rid of all the filthy fur.
