Moment Brit, US, Canadian, Irish & Australian troops are bombarded by drones as they storm Russian trenches in Ukraine
Reports claim the raid took out 22 Russian soldiers
THIS is the moment troops from across the world are bombarded by drones as they stormed Russian trenches in Ukraine.
British, US, Canada, and Australian fighters were all seen advancing on Russian troops before they were hit by terrifying suicide drones.
Heart-pounding footage shows the group of English-speaking foreign fighters capturing a tactically “dominant” spot near Avdiivka in Eastern Ukraine in August.
Footage of the drone attacks was shown online after being posted by the 59th Motor Rifle Brigade.
The commander of the group called the fighting some of the most brutal his unit has experienced in the war so far.
I think this (mission) will go down in history as an exemplary assault, which was performed with character and constant pressure on the enemy
Commander
He spoke over the video saying: “The (Russian) opponents concentrated a lot of resources to hold it.”
He continued: “I think this (mission) will go down in history as an exemplary assault, which was performed with character and constant pressure on the enemy.”
The chilling video mixes drone footage with the first-person footage from the Ukrainian troops and the other men.
After an intense battle where Russian soldiers are driven out of hiding, Ukrainian units can be seen picking them off one-by-one as they try to escape.
It was reported online that 22 Russian soldiers were eliminated and two captured.
At least one British fighter was injured, according to reports.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The brutal warfare starts with the troops storming into a Russian trench as they are met with a barrage of bullets.
The commentary says several Russian soldiers were eliminated as soon as the shooting started.
Ukrainian troops fighting alongside the international team came in a convoy of armoured military trucks.
They were made up of three units, Alpha, Bravo and Charlie and it was filmed on August 23, 2023.
The trio of units sent one motor down the middle of the clearing and two either side of it.
Gunfire loudly crashes around in the video as mounted machine guns on the trucks battle against Russian soldiers hiding in the trenches.
One of the armoured trucks is struck by an explosion as they approach the trenches and dirt is sent flying into the air.
A clip shows one vehicle heavily damaged as soldiers climb out.
The fighters continue to jump out in camouflaged gear and take up tactical positions around the Russians as they open fire.
Shouts of “push up” can barely be heard over the bullets as the unit advances on the trenches.
Then a terrifying grenade is launched into the wooded area where the Russians are hiding.
Quickly after advancing towards the trench, the eerie sound of drones can be heard buzzing overhead as the fighters rush for cover.
Moments later a cry of “suicide drone” rings out in the video.
The footage cuts to a helmet camera that picks up a Canadian saying “I’m hit.”
He is then shown covered in dirt and stricken on the floor as an Australian fighter rushes to his side.
Visibly shaking, the Canadian man tries to get back to his feet but can’t stand up as he crawls for cover.
In another shot, a Russian fighter is seen spraying the Charlie team with a grenade launcher.
Several explosions throw them to the floor and leave them startled.
A British fighter was also hit by a round of machine gun fire and sent flying backwards through the trench but he miraculously survives and can be seen crawling around looking for aid.
Another suicide drone goes off later in the footage as it leaves a fighter named Mossy laid flat on his back.
An American then comes to his rescue and can be heard saying: “Alright Mossy. I’m going to have to molest you a little bit so I can get these grenades out of you.”
He takes the grenades off of him and continues on his way battling more Russian troops.
At this point the comrades are closing in on clearing out the trench but commentary admits they are in a “difficult moment” as both flanks approach each other.
Five enemy soldiers are laying in cover in holes in the ground as Ukrainian troops approach from both sides trying to avoid the potential of friendly fire.
Footage then shows two Russian soldiers running through the trees trying to find safety.
But with remarkable aim, one gets picked off as the second runs towards a Ukrainian fighter and into the trench.
His face can be seen in the video looking startled, confused and shell-shocked before he sprints away.
BRITAIN HELPING IN UKRAINE
The UK has already pledged £9.3 billion in aid for Ukraine so far in the war, according to the government.
As well as sending a huge range of military equipment including tanks, missiles, helicopters, minehunter ships, thousands of anti-tank weapons, multiple launch rocket systems, armoured vehicles and ammunition.
Dozens of British tanks were seen thundering through the Channel Tunnel on February 14, in drills to prepare for war with Russia.
Top Brass have ordered tank crews to haul mothballed Challenger 2s out of storage amid fears of looming conflict.
The government has also sanctioned over 1,600 individuals, entities and subsidiaries since Putin’s invasion of Ukraine almost two-years-ago – including 69 top oligarchs.
Britain’s official stance on the Ukraine War is that “the UK and our allies condemn the Russian government’s unprovoked and premeditated invasion of Ukraine”.
“Putin has isolated Russia from the rest of the world. The UK stands with Ukraine,” GOV.UK say on their website.
