Who is Beau Lamarre?

Beau Lamarre is a New South Wales police officer who allegedly murdered former Channel Ten presenter Jesse Baird and his Qantas flight attendant boyfriend Luke Davies.

The former celebrity blogger handed himself in to cops at Bondi Police Station in Sydney's eastern suburbs shortly after 10.30am on Friday.

Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty told reporters on Friday that Lamarre was on-duty at the time of Baird and Davies' disappearance but called into work sick on Tuesday.

Lamarre was named a person of interest in the case after the investigators learnt that he once dated Baird.

Baird's relatives told police that their break-up was "bitter", while his friends claimed the TV star feared he was being stalked.

Investigators were unable to locate Lamarre following the disappearance of Baird and Davies and it is understood he had taken sick leave this week.

When did Jesse Baird and Luke Davies go missing?

Baird and his boyfriend Davies were last seen in Paddington, a suburb of Sydney where Baird lives, on Monday.

Friends have reported last seeing Baird on Tuesday and he appeared "fine".

Davies has not been at work since Monday and his family have not spoken to him since then.

Detectives immediately treated the couple's disappearance as suspicious after Davies' home in Waterloo was also found to be empty.

Their belongings were found in a skip bin, including blood-covered clothes, on Wednesday.

A phone, keys and credit cards - which haven't been used since the weekend - were also among belongings discovered in the skip bin 18 miles away from Baird's home.

Cops have been urgently searching for the couple ever since but are yet to locate the two men.

What has Beau Lamarre been charged with?

Lamare has been charged with two counts of murder following the disappearance of Baird and Davies under suspicious circumstances.

The police officer is believed to have allegedly used his service weapon while on-duty to kill both men before disposing of their bodies.

Police searched Baird's home in Paddington and found a "large amount of blood" and blood-stained furniture.

There were also "signs of a struggle" as furniture had been moved around.

The amount of blood has led the officers to believe that at least one had suffered "a significant injury".

Baird's neighbours heard arguments on early Monday morning but didn't report it until police began canvassing the scene two days later.

“Charges have been submitted for two counts of murder,” Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty told reporters on Friday.

“He will be formally refused bail by police and expected to face court at some stage, whether it is today or tomorrow.”

According to cops, Lamarre used his NSW Police gun to kill the two men at Baird’s home in Sydney on Monday night before dumping their bodies in a white rental van for disposal.

Doherty confirmed that the van allegedly used to transport the men's bodies has since been found, adding it is "important that we get the movements in relation to that van as hopefully we can find the bodies".
